A Community, Not Just a Building
The Hindu community is beautifully diverse. We come from different regions, speak different languages, follow different traditions, and celebrate in different ways. Yet beneath that diversity are shared values, stories and traditions that connect us.
OM Hindu Center exists to strengthen those connections.
Our goal is to create a welcoming home for the broader Hindu community — across regions, languages, traditions, generations and countries of origin. A place where families from Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Bengal and other regions of India, as well as Hindu communities with roots in Trinidad, Guyana and throughout the world, can come together — not by leaving their individual traditions behind, but by sharing them with one another.
A place to connect. A place to learn. A place to celebrate. A place to serve.
Most importantly, a place to belong.
DharmaSetu — a bridge to Dharma — is the digital platform of OM Hindu Center. It extends our community beyond the walls of the Center, connecting people to programs, learning opportunities, celebrations, service and, most importantly, one another.

What we do
Our Four Pillars
The work of OM Hindu Center is built around four interconnected pillars: Dharma, Culture, Education and Seva.
Together, they provide opportunities for our community to deepen its understanding, celebrate its diversity, support one another and build meaningful relationships across generations.
Dharma
Values for Life
We create opportunities to explore, understand and live the timeless principles of Sanātana Dharma.
Through scripture, philosophy, discussion and everyday practice, we seek to make values such as Dharma, Ahimsa, Satya, Seva and compassion meaningful and relevant to modern life.
Programs may include study and discussion of the Bhagavad Gītā, Rāmāyaṇa and other Hindu texts and traditions, along with conversations that explore how the principles of Sanātana Dharma can guide the choices and challenges we encounter today.
Dharma is not simply something we study. It is something we strive to live.
Culture
Celebrating Our Diversity
There is no single Hindu cultural experience.
Across India and the global Hindu diaspora, our festivals, languages, foods, music, arts and customs have developed in wonderfully different ways. OM Hindu Center provides a place where those traditions can be celebrated together and shared with the wider community.
A festival such as Navratri, for example, may be experienced differently in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Bengal and other regions. Rather than choosing one tradition to represent everyone, we want to create opportunities for communities to share their traditions with one another.
Through festivals, performances, food, music, art, language and community gatherings, we seek to keep our culture living, shared and relevant to the generations that follow.
Our diversity isn’t something to overcome. It is something to celebrate together.
Education
Learning Across Generations
Education at OM Hindu Center extends beyond religious learning.
We envision a community in which knowledge, experience and skills are shared across generations — from the Hindu scriptures to SAT and ACT preparation, mentorship, language, life skills and professional guidance.
Children and youth may find academic support and mentors. Adults may participate in classes, discussions and workshops. Community members may volunteer their own knowledge and expertise to help someone else.
Education therefore becomes more than a class. It becomes one generation investing in the next — and a community learning from one another.
Seva
Community in Action
Seva turns our values into action.
We believe service extends beyond ourselves and beyond the walls of OM Hindu Center. Our responsibility is both to care for one another and to contribute meaningfully to the broader community in which we live.
Through volunteerism, charitable initiatives, mentorship and direct support, we seek opportunities to respond to real needs — from helping families facing difficult circumstances to supporting students, schools and underserved communities.
We encourage everyone — children, youth and adults — to discover that service is not simply something we do occasionally. It is part of how we live our Dharma.
Through Seva, we care for our own, serve our neighbors and strengthen the community we all call home.

A Place for the Next Generation
Belonging comes before participation.
For Sanātana Dharma to remain vibrant for generations to come, young people must experience the Hindu community as their community — not simply something belonging to their parents or grandparents. That means creating a place they genuinely want to be.
OM Hindu Center seeks to provide young people with opportunities to meet friends, play games, watch movies, study together, receive academic support, volunteer, participate in activities — or simply hang out. Not every interaction needs to begin with a religious class.
By first creating friendships, community and a sense of belonging, we can also create opportunities for young people to naturally encounter the stories, traditions and values of Sanātana Dharma. Values such as Dharma, Ahimsa, Satya, Seva, compassion, respect and responsibility can then become more than concepts they are asked to memorize. They can become principles young people explore in the context of their own lives.
We want the next generation to have the freedom and opportunity to understand, question, experience and ultimately develop their own meaningful relationship with Sanātana Dharma.
Our goal is not simply to teach young people about their heritage.
It is to help them discover that they have a place within it.

OM Hindu Center is not intended to replace the regional, linguistic, cultural or religious organizations that already enrich our community. We want to build bridges between them.
Whether your family comes from Andhra or Tamil Nadu, Punjab or Bengal, India or the Caribbean; whether you recently arrived or your family has lived here for generations; whether you are deeply familiar with Sanātana Dharma or are just beginning to explore it — there is a place for you here.
